Homegrown mobile moghul Micromax is about to script a new chapter in coming few months.

Micromax have just announced that they are going to start 3 new manufacturing facility respectively in Rajsthan, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. All these 3 plants are going to be operational during next year. With these manufacturing plants, the total installed capacity of Micromax will reach to about 4 million handsets. This roughly translates into 25% of Indian mobile handset market. With the help of these factories, Micromax is aimed to provide employment to about 12,000 people.

In these facilities, Micromax is expected not to assemble handsets but also start production of various mobile phone components as well as batteries.

Recently announced Make-In-India project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gathering a lot of response from electronic manufacturers especially from mobile handset players. Big guys like Xiaomi, Foxconn, Lava, Celkon and now Micromax have already made their intentions clear.

According to IDC, Micromax have occupied second slot with 16.7% market share during July-September quarter while Samsung remained on top with approx 24% market share.
