Today, Micromax have unveiled almost 14 new handset models and a new corporate identity. Actually, we were expecting something radical to come up from Micromax as the company is facing several criticism from customers and industry watchers as many senior officials have left the company in last few months and no major break through in holding up the market share.

We have spent around 3 hours with latest Micromax Canvas Pro 6 and sadly, we cannot say that this model is anything special in the arsenal of Micromax products. We have expected much better stuff from Micromax. However, let me take you through the detailed review.

Display

Canvas Pro 6 is with Full HD with almost 401 PPI resolution and equipped with IPS screen with Full Lamination technology. The touch is pretty smooth and very much responsive enough. However, much credit also goes to the powerful Helio processor.

Battery

Since we have just spent around 3 hours with the device, I cannot say anything in depth about the battery performance but 3,000 mAh non removable battery seems to be a pretty decent deal. In addition, the processor A57 is equipped to reduce to power usage. I have played HD games for around 20 minutes and around 15% battery got consumed during the same.

Camera

Camera is not that great and either not that bad as well. Remarkably, both the camera are Largan lenses. Rear camera have got 5P largan lenses while front camera have got 4P. In addition, the front camera is wide enough for some remarkable selfies. No front camera flash is a bit of disappointment at this price point. 13MP is the rear camera while 5MP is the front camera resolution. Low light performance was not above the class and producing average results. Macro shots are good enough.

Processor and Memory

Company have used 2.0 GHz Mediatek MT6795 Octa Core processor which is quite new offering from Mediatek – Helio X10 which is decent in performance. The processor lacks fast charging functionality support which is now a days a norm however, the phone can be charged with 2.1A power input and bit of fast charging can be attained with the same.

RAM is most remarkable here – it’s huge 4GB RAM. As the company puts on “Enough RAM to Kick Boredom’s Ass“.

Internal Memory – ROM – is 16GB – and user available space is less than 10GB. That is mainly because of so many Apps provided by the company. However, you can increase the same with MicroSD card to up to 128 GB.

What I like most:

  • RAM Capabilities – 4GB is just great
  • Display – Full Lamination with IPS support – which also support Ultra HD videos creates magic
  • Battery – Though, I didn’t review the device in depth but 3,000 mAh is great bet

What I do not like:

  • No finger print scanner
  • Too many in-built applications – which most of us will not like. Company should not think to make too much money via forceful application offerings
  • No front camera flash

Overall – I rank this device as quite a normal device, nothing great about it and one can easily avoid to purchase this device. The company have already started taking pre-booking from the customers but we feel that if this is the online exclusive model of the company – then the INR 13,999 price tag is bit high. This model do not deserve this price.

Hope, my express review will help you to take informed decision about this model. Do let me know, what do you think of this model.
